Nutella is one of my guilty pleasures. That stuff is seriously delicious. As much as I try to limit my diet to foods I can spell, I have been known to turn a blind eye to the ingredient list for Nutella. After all, how can that stuff be bad for you? It’s so delicious!!! =) And then today’s recipe changed my life. 4 ingredients and you got yourself homemade yumminess. Hazelnuts, cocoa, sugar and hazelnut oil. That’s it. The hardest part will be to keep up with demand as converted friends will beg you to make more. Here is how to make Homemade Nutella:

Homemade Nutella

makes about 2 cups
Ingredients
  • 2 cups hazelnuts
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 3 tsp hazelnut oil

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Place your hazelnuts on a baking sheet and roast them for 10 minutes to bring out the flavor. Place hazelnuts in a damp kitchen towel and rub them to remove the skins.
  2. Place hazelnuts in a food processor and mix until mixture turn to butter, about 5 minutes. Scrape the bowl a few times to make sure the hazelnut butter is as smooth as possible.
  3. Add sugar, cocoa powder and hazelnut oil and continue mixing until combined. Add more hazelnut oil as needed to get the right consistency.

I used small jars and had enough to fill 2 of them. One to keep and one to give:

My friend James ended up making ice cream with his. DE-LISH!
