I am not ready for Holiday cookies yet. I get it, Thanksgiving is over and everything Christmas is about to flood my Facebook wall but it’s still November, dang it! I had to dedicate one last cookie to my favorite season and what better way to do it than to use my new toy, an airbrush machine!
When I think of Fall, the first image that comes to mind are turning leaves in glorious shades of yellow, orange and red. Making cookies that do justice to the subtle changes in colors can be tricky but the airbrush machine made it super easy.
I started by coating leaf cookies in bright yellow and orange royal icing:
Then comes the fun part. I used a Duff Goldman airbrush machine, available here.
Here is my set-up: colors ready, airbrush plugged in and an easy-to-wash giant baking sheet as my work surface.
Start by adding a touch of green to your cookies.
Then switch to red. Try different angles and mix it up. The more random the better.
